For the first time in the history of the AFCON, Tunisia has eliminated favourites Ghana to advance to the quarterfinal of the competition. The Carthage Eagles beat the Black Stars 5-4 on penalities following a 1 – 1 draw after extra time. AFCON 2019: Gyan named in Appiah’s provisional squad

Asamoah Gyan has been named in Coach Kwasi Appiah’s provisional 29-man squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation scheduled for Egypt, next month. The 29 consist of three goalkeepers, ten defenders, eleven midfielders and five strikers. The squad will be trimmed to 23 players before the tournament kicks off in June, 2019. AFCON 2019: Sports Ministry denies $8m budget for Black Stars

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS), has denied reports, which suggests that an amount of $8 million, has been budgeted for the senior national team, the Black Stars for their participation in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt. According to the report, the Sports Ministry have approved the said budget to cater for the Black Stars during the tournament. AFCON 2019: Ghana names Squad to Face Kenya

Ghana Squad vs Kenya James Kwesi Appiah, Ghana Black Stars’ coach has named a 24-man squad to face Kenya. The squad comprises of five (5) debutants while the likes of Jeffery Schlupp, Kwadwo Asamoah, Kwesi Appiah and Alfred Duncan make a return.
