This was announced on Sunday at a grand finale held inside the Grand Arena of the AICC in Accra, Ghana, as monitored by GhEntertainers.com.
At the grand finale, the winner Ekua faced stiff competition from four (4) other delegates, which include Enam (Volta Region), Serwaa (Ashanti Region), Ayisha (Upper East Region), and Saah (Western North Region).
The grand finale which saw a number of chiefs and queen mothers in their numbers, to support their regional contestants began with an energetic opening performance from the finalists and Ghana Dance Ensemble.
Ayisha argued that Africa must be compensated because slave trade was brutal and horrific, and the enslavement of Africans was cruel, exploitative, and dehumanizing. Serwaa also argued for a compensation. According to her, the period radically impaired Africa’s potential to develop economically and maintain its social and political stability.
For Enam, despite leaving the African continent underdeveloped, disorganized, and vulnerable, Africans need not be compensated. Both Saah and Ekua also argued against the compensation of Africans, with respective to the slave trade.
